Mamathana Trichology Salon  opened its doors in January 2023 as a leap of faith by Director and IAT certified trichologist Colleen Strysko. Every vision aims to solve a problem and this what drives us to keep going

PROBLEM

Every year, billions, of those billions the biggest contributors are black women. Here in Southern Africa we are contributing but realising little return on investment some of the main reasons being:

• We don’t understand our hair. We have been taught to change it rather than maintain it.
• Constantly needing to change our hair has led to negative hair psychology, hair loss and a lot of synthetic waste that ends up in landfills.

• Lack of research has meant that harmful hair practices continue from generation to generation. Consumers end up using products targeted at other hair types rather than their own, leading to sub par results.

OUR SOLUTION

• Change the way we look at coily, curly Southern African Hair. By giving clients and hair care professionals the handles they need to maintain and grow healthy hair
• Start the process of researching curly , coily Southern African Hair so we can create market specific hair practices, products and reduce the incidence of hair loss.
• Reduce the amount of non-biodegradable waste produced by our salon services while aiming to upcycle and recycle wherever we can
• Partner with other hair care professionals to establish a standard of hair care that will impact Botswana, Southern Africa and the world at large.
